Don't don't DON'T copy other people's stuff.
If you can't be bothered to do your own research, don't post. Just don't. Don't steal other people's content, tease it around a bit, and claim it as your own. Don't change 3 words, and throw it on your blog under your own name. It's sleazy. A certain relative of mine has been doing this constantly on his blog, and it is starting to really piss me off.

Directory diversions....
In my attempt to keep up with the world of SEO, I've taken on a few projects (see JDS Antique Reproductions). And while my first side project is less worried about getting ranked than just having a website, I thought I'd try an experiment and see if I can up his ranking at all. So, I'm using what I know to find directories to submit him to, local and web-wide. With the help of Dr. Ralph F. Wilson and his slightly outdated article, among others, we'll see what happens over the coming months. I'm regarding www.farmtables.biz as a case study, really, since it doesn't matter if it gets ranked. Of course, I'd love to see it rise to the top, but I realize that is unlikely. But, I'll still settle for it ranking period.

Reclaimed wood farm tables, coffee tables, and end tables oh my
Recently, my husband's "boss" (and I say "boss" because Josh isn't really anyone's boss, but just a very smart, successful coder who's managed to grab his fair share of the pie, and more, and we benefit from the overflow) has asked me to do some freelance content/SEO work for him. Which, quite frankly, scares the dickens out of me since I don't want to screw up anything with Josh and my husband. But my first attempt seems to have gone very well. Behold farmtables.biz , a site for a Richmond local specializing in reclaimed wood furniture. He gathers all the materials from locations around Richmond, like old houses, barns, and warehouses, and then makes some absolutely gorgeous furniture from them. At least he's working me in slowly. I will say that while I'm nervous, I'm also very excited to be able to work on projects like this, since it allows me to create these sites the way I think they need to be done.

I'm sorry but I'm just thinking of the right words to say...
I know they don't sound the way I planned them to be, but if you wait around awhile, I'll make you fall for me, I promise you, I promise you, I will.
And now that the 80s music is out of my head, maybe I'll start writing in here again.
Valentines Day is here. And I'm up one child since the last time I wrote. Which is good, because that means I'm not dead since that once child single-handedly (well, not really her fault) made sure that she won't have any more siblings unless we adopt. I don't recommend emergency hysterectomies coupled with massive amounts of blood loss. They aren't particularly fun.
Said child is now teething (on baby artichokes, no less) and is quite the most adorable creature we've seen since her sister arrived four and a half years ago. And she was joined soon after her arrival by my darling nephew whom I also adore (and who is equally cute).
It's funny, but two children turns one into much more of a parent than one child does. I'm even more obsessed with fancy strollers and expensive baby clothes for both children now than I ever was when Bella was a baby. Molly has apparently kick-started my mom-instincts of "my child must have the best of everything." Or maybe it's just knowing that I will never have the chance again.
